Class information

For those new to Fundamentally Pilates, we highly recommend a few one-to-one sessions to rapidly benefit optimally from the group sessions. Unless specified, groups are mixed in gender and ability and, where required, streamed.

Most of the classes are at Downswood Tennis Club, opposite Tattenham Corner Pub, Epsom Downs and some at the Studio in Langley Vale. All locations have ample free parking on-site or on the street nearby. Saturday classes are at Langley Vale Village Hall and on Zoom.

Class sizes at Downswood Tennis club are kept to a maximum of eight participants and three at the Studio in Langley Vale.

The small class size allows me to be hands on, so I can keep an eye on your form and adjust where necessary to ensure correct execution of exercises and can be called upon to help if you are not sure about particular exercises.

You learn a lot about your body from Pilates, such as how you move, postural issues and poor movement patterns. It really improves coordination and awareness of what your body is doing when you move. This you can apply to your life and really reap the rewards.

I have a series of virtual and in person sessions running as well as using Downswood Tennis Club for mat and chair based sessions.

Your body

What is good for the sport is not always as good for the body, and although much preferred over a sedentary lifestyle, exercise may cause joint damage and pain through poor posture or tight and imbalanced muscles. I can show you how to move, stretch, strengthen and tone effectively. Feedback from my clients has been that they  instantly feel the benefits to their balance, coordination and overall wellbeing.

muscular tightness

FACT: Feeling achy and tight is not necessarily part of the ageing process!

Even if you have an active lifestyle and take part in exercise and sport, it's possibly been a while since you've used the correct muscles.

The exercise therapy-based classes combine up-to-date (sport) science and biomechanics with mindfulness and the traditional Pilates method. For example a joint needs holding in its proper position to connect to the right muscle groups, and stretching does not resolve that, especially if you feel weakness and pain around the joints.

So come and try a class to learn how to improve your posture, functional movements, strength and balance, to name a few of the many benefits.
